Network Engineer required for a leading provider of financial technology solutions based in Cheltenham. Reporting into the UK Network Lead, this person will be responsible in providing 2nd level support for the client network. Further duties include designing and building of networks within the UK to support financial markets and wealth management solutions. This will also include network monitoring, trend analysis and capacity planning.

This role is 70% BAU & 30% Project based and will cover the hours of 11:30AM – 8PM

Accountabilities & Deliverables
** Design, configuration and implementation of the client network solutions, this will incorporate the following technologies – Juniper switches, Cisco routers, firewalls (Fortigate, Juniper SRX and Cisco ASA/PIX), CoS/QoS, network management tools, network sniffers, Load balancers (Radware AppDirector/Alteons) and VPN Technologies.
** Provide 2nd level support for LAN/WAN data communication problems and/or tasks.
** Analyze complex network problems and co-ordinate to resolution.
** Monitor network performance, capacity planning and trending.
** Submit and review planned network changes (Change Control)
** Provide technical/connectivity guidance to clients
** Provide technical support and analysis where required
** Analyze application problems and assist in the co-ordination of resolutions where necessary.

About you
** Demonstrable experience specializing in designing/supporting large scale LAN/WAN environments and supporting/diagnosing IP based network issues.
** Tertiary qualifications or equivalent. CCNP/Juniper Equivalent certifications or higher.
** Excellent understanding of all networking technologies – Ethernet, bridging, spanning tree, routing protocols (BGP and OSPF), TCP, UDP, FTP/SFTP firewall and WAN technologies.
** Ability to work autonomously.
** Take ownership of problems and co-ordinate to resolution (end-to-end).
** Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
** Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written, including the ability to communicate with non-technical customers.
** Ability to work under pressure.
